I know that in the past looking at our photos has been a bit of a drag, what with having to read every file name to see what the picture was about. I have finally installed a proper Photo Gallery package on my home server so that you will be able to browse the photo thumbnails visually to see what you want to expand to full-size. Take a look!

The photo album was created with Gallery2. I cannot say enough about this package. If you have any geek in you at all you can set this up on your server.

I am trying to keep up with our digital photos, so in that spirit I have posted a new batch of 2006/2007 pictures including Gray Rocks and Amagansett pictures.

You can now send all of us cellular text messages from this website. If you click on “Send Us Text Messages” you can try it out. The password is Rose’s maiden name.

If you are a friend or family member I’d be glad to set this up for you too. Let me know if you want me to add you and your phone to the list.

I am not sure how much use this will get but I am really having fun learning PHP as I go here. This whole site is really a learning project.

 Update 1-31-07, disabled while I work on fixing bugs.

It has taken a full two years, but I did it.  I have tagged, filed, and published all our Digital Pictures from 2004, 2005, and 2006 to date.  See the “Photo Gallery” link at the top of this page.  Changes from before include:

• Since pretty much the entire family has high-speed internet now, I will no longer be resizing the photos for low-bandwidth users.
• The website takes you right to our server folder containing all of our family pictures, not just the ones that are good.  Be warned there are a lot of so-so pictures in there,  we chose to error on the side of keeping too much.
• I have begun scanning some of my mother’s older photos to digital format, you will see those in there too.
